ചില്ക തടാകം ഒരു ഉപ്പുജല തടാകമാണ്‌.
ദയ നദിയോട്‌ ചേര്‍ന്നു കാണപ്പെടുന്ന ചില്ക തടാകം 1,100 ചതുരശ്ര കിലോമീറ്റല്‍ സ്ഥലത്ത്‌ വ്യാപിച്ച്‌ കിടക്കുന്നു. ഈ ചതുപ്പ്‌നിലം ഉപ്പ്‌ വെള്ള തടാകം വിഭാഗത്തിലാണ്‌ വരുന്നത്‌. ശൈത്യകാലത്ത്‌ കാസ്‌പിയന്‍ കടല്‍, ഇറാന്‍, റഷ്യ , സൈബീര തുടങ്ങി വിവിധ പ്രദേശങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നും ഇവിടേയ്‌ക്ക്‌ ദേശാടന പക്ഷികള്‍ എത്താറുണ്ട്‌. ദേശാടന കാലത്ത്‌ 205 ലേറെ ഗണത്തില്‍ പെടുന്ന പക്ഷികള്‍ ഇവിടേയ്‌ക്കെത്താറുണ്ടെന്നാണ്‌ കണക്കാക്കിയിരിക്കുന്നത്‌. 97 ലേറെ ഇനത്തില്‍പെട്ട പക്ഷികള്‍ മറ്റ്‌ ഭൂഖണ്ഡങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നും വരാറുണ്ട്‌.
ചില്ക തടാകത്തില്‍ നിരവധി ചെറു ദ്വീപുകള്‍ ഉണ്ട്‌.. പക്ഷി ദ്വീപ്‌, ഹണിമൂണ്‍ ദ്വീപ്‌, പരികുഡ്‌ ദ്വീപ്‌, ബ്രേക്‌ഫാസ്റ്റ്‌ ദ്വീപ്‌, മലുഡ്‌, ദ്വീപ്‌, നിര്‍മല്‍ഝാര ദ്വീപ്‌, കാലിജയ്‌ ദ്വീപ്‌, നലബാന എന്നിവയാണ് ഇതില്‍ ചില പ്രധാന ദ്വീപുകള്‍.
